Description

The Panzerkampfwagen VI Ausf.
Tiger I is undoubtedly one of the most famous tanks of the Second World War.
It was designed to equip the Wehrmacht's tank divisions with a heavily armored and heavily armed main battle tank to complement the widely used medium Panzer III and Panzer IV, which could no longer effectively counter enemy tanks.
The first versions entered combat service at the end of 1942 on the Eastern Front near Leningrad and on the African Front during the Tunisian campaign in the first months of 1943.
The main armament consisted of the famous and deadly long-barreled 88 mm anti-tank gun KwK 36 L/56.
Built into the front of the turret and protected by a heavy 120 mm aperture, it was capable of penetrating the armor of any enemy vehicle of the time, even at long distances.
