Description

The Trix T25299 Vectron Dual Mode BR 249 represents the modern dual‑power locomotive of DB Cargo AG, shown here in its 2024 operating condition. The prototype, 249 006, is part of Siemens’ Vectron family and combines electric and diesel operation for maximum flexibility in freight service.

The model features a digital decoder with extensive sound functions and a regulated high‑performance drive powering all four axles, supported by traction tyres. The lighting system includes a directional three‑light headlight and two red tail lights, all digitally controllable. Each end of the locomotive can be switched independently, including double‑A lighting when both headlights are turned off.

Additional functions include driver’s cab lighting, control desk lighting, engine room lighting, a separately switchable high beam, and an integrated energy buffer for stable power supply. The Telex couplers on both ends are digitally operated, including an automatic uncoupling sequence. The pantograph can be raised and lowered digitally.

Brake hoses and a shunting coupler are included.
